Privacy Compliance Committee

The Privacy Compliance Committee (PCC) works diligently on behalf of ADIA to ensure the Association and members are kept abreast of privacy issues, have the appropriate tools and information in place to comply with privacy law, adhere to the monitoring/reporting obligations of the Code and continue to strengthen the industry’s relationship with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) and other like-minded strategic partners.

The PCC has an independent Chair and comprises representatives from ADIA and a consumer representative.

It meets twice a year to examine privacy matters relating to the Privacy (Market & Social Research) Code, provides regular updates and training to members and the ADIA Board on privacy matters.

As the Administrator of the Privacy Code, ADIA is required to report annually to the OAIC regarding details the activities of the Association and Privacy Compliance Committee (PCC) working under the M&SRPC.

Committee members are indebted to the long-term dedication and expertise over many years by our dear friend and colleague, Jayne Van Souwe.  Jayne was a privacy compliance committee member for over a decade.  Her work continues to support and inform the industry and, will do so for many years to come.
